Privacy Policy

High-level: Scriba Lucis educational applications (including Trellis) are designed to prioritize learning, focus, and privacy. I aim to minimize data collection and avoid monetizing attention.

No in-app accounts: The apps do not require you to create an in-app account with me. However, if you install the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play, you will use your Apple ID / Google account for downloading, updating, and (if applicable) managing subscriptions.

On-device learning data: These apps store learning state (e.g., progress, history, and preferences) locally on your device so the app can function. This information is used to provide core functionality (such as spaced repetition, progress tracking, and personalization) and is not sold.

Website usage: Like most websites, the site and its hosting providers may generate basic operational logs (e.g., request time and IP address) for security, rate-limiting, and reliability.

Subscriptions: If an app offering uses a paid subscription, subscription purchase and renewal are processed by Apple or Google. The app may communicate with Apple/Google billing systems to check your current subscription status (for example, to confirm access). I do not receive your full payment details; billing is handled by the store.

Contact and community: If you submit a message via the contact form (available on Community), I receive the information you provide (such as your name, email address, and message content) for the purpose of responding. Anti-abuse controls (such as reCAPTCHA) may be used to prevent spam.

Sharing: I do not sell personal data. I do not share personal data with third parties for advertising. Limited information may be processed by service providers strictly to operate the website/contact workflow (e.g., form delivery and abuse prevention).

Data retention: I keep contact submissions only as long as needed to respond and maintain reasonable records. I may delete or anonymize older submissions as part of routine maintenance.

Changes: If features change in a way that materially affects data handling, this page will be updated.

Data Safety Form (Google Play)

This section is intended to align with what will be disclosed in the Google Play Data safety form for Scriba Lucis educational Android apps (including Trellis).

• Data collection: These apps are designed to function without requiring an account and without collecting personal data for advertising.
• Data sharing: No data is sold. No data is shared for advertising purposes.
• Security: If network requests are used (for example, contacting services), they are intended to use modern HTTPS transport.
• User controls: You can delete the app to remove locally stored app data. Where applicable, you may request deletion of contact submissions (see Contact below).
• Subscriptions (if applicable): Google Play handles billing. The app may query Google Play Billing to validate whether a subscription is active.

Apple App Store (Privacy “Nutrition Label” + Tracking)

This section is intended to align with the App Store Connect App Privacy questionnaire and Apple’s tracking rules.

• No tracking / no ATT prompt: These apps do not use IDFA and do not track users across apps or websites for advertising or measurement.
• No ads SDKs: These apps do not include third-party advertising SDKs.
• No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs: These apps do not include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
• No account required: These apps are designed to function without requiring an account.
• On-device data: Study progress and preferences are stored locally on your device for app functionality.
• Subscriptions (if applicable): Apple handles billing. The app may use StoreKit to validate whether a subscription is active.

Target Audience

Scriba Lucis educational applications (including Trellis) are learning tools for serious learners. They are intended for teens and adults who want long-form study, mastery, and deliberate practice.

• Intended age: 13+.
• Not directed to children: These apps are not designed or marketed to children under 13.
• Focus: Content is focused on learning and comprehension; it is not a social network and does not provide public user-to-user messaging.

Ads Declaration

• No third-party ads: These apps do not serve third-party advertising.
• No interest-based ads: These apps do not use your personal data for behavioral advertising.
• No tracking for ads: These apps are built to avoid tracking-oriented monetization.

Subscription Access (if applicable)

Some apps or content bundles may require an active subscription to use paid features. If a subscription is required and it lapses, paid functionality may be disabled until the subscription is renewed. Subscription management (purchase, renewal, cancellation) is handled through the Apple App Store / Google Play.
